This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced youth worker with energy, compassion, and resilience to make a real change to the life chances of young people in the UK asylum system. The Youth Welfare Officer for Refugee and Asylum-Seeking Young People (YWO) line manages and works alongside the Assistant Youth Welfare Officer to support refugee and asylum-seeking young people (RASYP) and promote their wellbeing. This full-time role is part funded through Migrant Help under the Youth Welfare Officer project and through the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund RUBIC2 project.

The YWO will be responsible for supporting RASYP aged 14-25 through both group work and 1:1 support, helping them to build social groups, reduce isolation, and access a range of social, emotional, and practical support while they navigate the complex and challenging processes of the UK asylum system.
