But the government is ‘absolutely’ committed to BYC’s UK Youth Parliament programme, the charities minister says.  The DCMS was informed of the BYC’s “significant financial difficulties” at the end of February, but “could not provide emergency funding”, Stuart Andrew said.  Andrew was responding to an open letter from members of BYC’s UK Youth Parliament. The open letter from UKYP members, which was signed by more than 300 people, urged Andrew, the culture secretary Lucy Frazer and others at the DCMS to ensure BYC’s Youth Voice Programme, UKYP and Youth Select Committee continued “without disruption or diminishment”.
