To be a Life Coach requires a JNC recognised qualification in Youth Work at level 3 or above, however there is an opportunity to recruit candidates to these posts without this JNC recognised qualification who would be employed as a ‘Life Coach in Training’ who would then be supported (as part of their role) to complete a JNC recognised level 3 qualification in Youth Work.
A key requirement for anyone interested in these posts is the ability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis, as well as the desire to help and support some of the most vulnerable young people in Leeds. The Life Coaches work one to one with young people experiencing poor mental health where this also increases the risk of them needing to become looked after or more likely to become Long term NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).
This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get into youth work as well as for those who are already qualified youth workers.
To find out more (or apply), further details can be found using this Life Coach link – post fixed until 31/03/26 with the possibility to extend.
If anyone would like to discuss these opportunities they are welcome to contact me directly, alternatively they can contact Leah.Dyer@leeds.gov.uk the Life Coaching Co-ordinator on 07891 276104 for an informal discussion.
