Showroom Cinema are looking for enthusiastic film fans aged 16-19 for their BFI Film Academy Summer Residential! By taking part in this residential training scheme, you’ll gain experience and insight into indie cinema through workshops delivered by industry professionals. Masterclasses will cover cinema programming, the role of the film critic, film distribution, marketing for indie cinemas, finding your audience and loads more! Plus, you’ll even get to put on your own film festival at Showroom Cinema! Apply by 1st July.

The course is a BFI Film Academy specialist course in Cinema Programming for the indie cinema circuit consisting of a one-week residential stay in Sheffield (29 July – 2 August) with daily workshops and masterclasses, followed by three online Saturdays. Over the duration of the course, young film fans (aged 16-19 years old) from across the UK will watch a wide range of cinema and work with industry professionals to plan and put on their own week-long film festival at Showroom Cinema in Sheffield. Our participants will arrange a film festival that would take place in February next year at Showroom Cinema.
