partnering up with Go Higher Education and Leeds Conservatoire to launch the Lads at the Back programme.

A training programme for young men to gain training on becoming a Peer Researcher, their aim will be to conduct their own research on the question “Why Are Young Men More Likely To Disengage From Education?“.

From January 2026- July 2026, they will be trained in topics to grow their confidence, critical thinking and understanding of what a ‘peer reseacher’ is, leading to the group conducting their own creative research.

When completed, the group will then present their findings to participating schools and colleges across Leeds and Wakefield where they will review their educational policies based on the groups conclusions!

We aim to recruit young men who want to make an impact on their local area, may have experience in disengaging from education or may be at risk of doing so. If you know any 16–23-year old’s who would be interested, share the poster lads-at-the-bac_1763638859
