Members of the WY&H YC have had a busy summer preparing for their upcoming “Pathways to Success” event in October. The event was developed in response to the 2024 “Make Your Mark” survey results, which highlighted a strong desire among young people for more information and support regarding jobs, employment, and careers. This event will allow young people to explore different career options, ask questions and talk with employers from a range of sectors, both in workshops and at a careers type fair.

They highlighted concerns about the reduction in funding for work experience for 16-to-19-year-olds, noting the negative impact this has on those from low-income or underrepresented backgrounds.
After providing input on a School Food Resource created by NHS North East and Yorkshire Regional Mental Health Team earlier in the year, they are now getting involved in filming for the resource. The video will share information about the resource, offer examples of good practices for schools, and detail signs and symptoms to look out for.
