Here at the YWU we recognise the hard work done by those working often alone in youth work across the region and have a commitment to supporting the sector’s workforce wellbeing, development and sharing of good practice. One of the ways we do this is to facilitate several networks for professionals. They meet regularly throughout the year either online or face-to-face. Giving members the opportunity to share experiences and challenges and ask questions.

Our current networks are –

  • Youth sector leads
  • Youth voice workers
  • Faith-based youth workers network
  • Workers supporting LGBTQI+ youth groups
  • Workers supporting Children in and leaving care councils
  • Higher Education providers network
  • Workers supporting SEND youth groups
  • Training providers (youth work) network
  • Impact network – in partnership with the Centre for Youth Impact (CfYI)

All networks are free to join/attend.

We also hold our annual conference in the autumn, a full day event creating an opportunity to meet face-to-face with peers, hear from key sector speakers and engage in activities on topics identified by our networks.
