A coalition of more than 30 organisations has called for the establishment of an independent authority to oversee children’s wellbeing online.

The NSPCC, the Centre for Young Lives, Mumsnet and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project are among the signatories of a joint Statement of Principles demanding that an independent authority or commissioner be set up and granted “investigative and enforcement powers” over social media platforms and other digital services accessed by young people.
