Here at the Co-op Foundation we’re excited to be recruiting more youth consultants to join our wonderful Future Communities Collective and wondered if you might be able to help please?
Young people from the collective have been involved in a wide range of exciting activities, building their skills and experience to help us make decisions on where our funding goes. At the start of this year, some of our FCC aged out and we are seeking to recruit new members, aged between 18-21, to join the existing 11 members.
We are particularly keen to hear from young people who may not have been involved in this kind of work before. We strongly encourage applications from underrepresented groups who reflect the diversity of communities supported by Co-op Foundation. This includes, but is not limited to:
- young people from racialised communities
- disabled young people
- LGBTQIA+ young people
- those from working-class backgrounds
- those who are not in education, employment or training (NEET)
- young people with long-term health conditions
- young people who are care-experienced
- young carers
- young parents
- young people who have experienced homelessness
- those who are justice-experienced.
We are also particularly seeking to have representation from devolved nations (especially Wales) and to ensure a better gender balance, and so we encourage applications from anyone identifying as male.
If you are working with young people who might be interested, please share this opportunity with them. There is a full info pack available here with a plain text version of this available here. The application deadline is 11.59pm on Wednesday 20 May.
