Last Friday was not an average summer holiday Friday as the YWU had the opportunity to support some young people from South Yorkshire to attend an event where the Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced a major new devolution plan, giving more powers to regional mayors.

The young people not only heard the announcement first-hand but also had the chance to meet the PM in an informal setting. We’re incredibly proud of how confidently they represented young people from their local communities and the region.
