Almost four in five charities are using artificial intelligence (AI), according to the 2026 Charity Digital Skills report, but very few are using it strategically. Many charities are asking for more guidance on how to use AI, with 60% saying they’d like more training for staff and volunteers and 48% requesting sector support on responsible AI.

​​This accessible, non-technical webinar introduces essential AI literacy for charities, civil society organisations and activists. It explains how generative AI works, where it may be useful, and where caution is needed.
Through practical examples, the session explores accuracy, bias, privacy, safeguarding, copyright and accountability. Rather than arguing for AI adoption, it equips attendees to assess these technologies critically, make proportionate decisions and undertake small, purposeful experiments where appropriate.

Attendees will learn:

➡️The principal considerations for charities, particularly around accuracy, bias, privacy, and human oversight
