Department for Education has published the first findings from Growing Up in the 2020s, its longitudinal study following young people through secondary education and into post-16 destinations. The first wave covers young people who were aged 12 and 13 in 2024/25, looking at mental and physical health, family relationships, socioeconomic circumstances, friendships, school belonging and attendance, enrichment and social media use.
