The Youth Sector Development Partnership (YSDP) is a three-year investment from The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. It will back the people, organisations, and regional support that great youth work depends on.

For years, UK Youth and our partners have argued that youth workers need sustained backing, not just short-term project funding. Despite falling funding and rising need, youth workers have kept showing up for young people. We need to show up for them.

YSDP will bring:

– Locally led, nationally connected: a regional consortium in each of England’s nine regions to deliver infrastructure support shaped around what local youth organisations need
– Multi-year funding for every region, so local partners can plan beyond the next funding round
– More ways into youth work, and more reasons to stay: bursaries, apprenticeships, recognition of existing experience, and support for volunteers
– Equity built in, not bolted on, with TRIUMPH leading on race equity alongside specialist support on disability, class, and LGBTQ+ inclusion

I’m incredibly proud that UK Youth is co-ordinating the partnership, working shoulder to shoulder with National Youth Agency, YPF Trust, TRIUMPH – Youth Sector Equity, and regional partners. Securing the investment was the first step. Now we will deliver on its promise.

YSDP was shaped by the sector, and it will keep improving because of you. If you lead a youth organisation, now is the time to start talking to your regional partners about how you can get involved in this exciting work.
