Arts Council England has announced details of its National Portfolio Investment Programme for 2028-33, which will provide multi-year support to arts organisations, museums and libraries.
The initiative is intended to help organisations plan ahead, improve resilience and deliver lasting cultural and community benefits. Supporting both operating costs and cultural activity, the investment will run from 1 April 2028 to 31 March 2033, with successful applicants becoming National Portfolio Organisations and receiving regular revenue payments.
Applicants may request at least £50,000 per year, with no maximum amount specified. The same sum must be requested for each year of the five-year period.
Applications are open to arts organisations, museums and statutory public libraries, as well as consortiums and partnerships. The lead organisation must have an eligible legal structure, such as a limited company, Community Interest Company, charitable organisation, cooperative society, Royal Charter body, university or other statutory body.
Eligible funding uses include public activity across combined arts, dance, digital arts, libraries, literature, museums, music, theatre and visual arts. Support may also cover sector development, networking, leadership, workforce development and specialist services.
Applications will be accepted from 20 October 2026 to 15 December 2026.
