Funding of up to £15,000 is available to educational institutions and constituted not-for-profit organisations throughout the UK for IT-related projects and activities.

The WCIT Charity provides support for initiatives linked to education, inclusion, technology for charities, and improving public understanding of technology. This can include the creation and delivery of new services, solutions, training programmes, apps, analytics, AI, robotics, and accessibility features or hardware.

Projects with a stronger chance of receiving funding include:

  • Projects where WCIT acts as either the main or sole funder.
  • Projects where WCIT is the only funder supporting the IT element of a wider project.
  • Organisations that may benefit from pro bono assistance.

Applications should demonstrate innovative use of IT, show potential for broader scalability and replication, and prove that the project will be sustainable in the long term. Applications are usually reviewed at four committee meetings each year.

The deadline for applications to be considered at the next committee meeting is 14 August 2026.
