- 1,000 new youth workers and £450 million for youth services – The government will fund 1,000 new youth workers, with the first expected from spring 2027. A £450 million Youth Matters Fund will support youth facilities, youth work and activities.
- Jobs Guarantee expanded for young disabled people – Eligible young people receiving health-related benefits will be offered a voluntary, fully funded job from week 13 after their Work Capability Assessment, alongside mentoring and tailored support.
- £100 million for local apprenticeship services– Funding over two years will extend local apprenticeship services across mayoral areas from spring 2027, helping connect young people with employers and opportunities based on local labour market needs.
- Education-to-employment pathways – The government also set out plans to strengthen routes into work through academic and technical education, work placements and apprenticeships, alongside wider efforts to reduce the number of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET).
