One in five children in care in England are being placed more than 20 miles from their family, friends, school and wider community, research by children’s charity Become is warning.  Become found that  there are almost 18,000 looked-after children placed far from their support networks and this number is growing. In the most extreme cases some children are being placed more than 500 miles from their home.
