Last week marked the exciting launch of the SENDing Voices animation films – a powerful, youth-led project by young people aged 13–25 with a wide range of experiences and diagnoses.   These animations are a brilliant example of what happens when young people lead the way. They’ve worked hard to bring their experiences to life in a creative and impactful way.   “Belonging is the opposite of fitting in. It’s about being accepted for who you are.”

That’s what these films are all about—helping providers understand what belonging really means for young people with SEND. The group co-produced five short animation films, each focusing on a theme that matters deeply to them:

  • Communication
  • Inclusion
  • Independence
  • Transitions
  • Acceptance

Through these films, SENDing Voices hopes to inspire real understanding and positive change across all settings in Sheffield. Each film is accompanied by a resource activity designed to spark discussion and deepen understanding of each theme. You’ll find these activities in the accompanying booklet (see attached)
