Pupils at York schools and colleges achieved the highest average A-level results in Yorkshire and The Humber, new figures show. Department for Education figures show the average A-level score achieved by pupils in York was 36.2 out of 60 maximum points – the highest result in Yorkshire and The Humber, where youngsters averaged 33.4 points.
Across England, the average point score for 2022-23 was lower than the previous academic year, which was expected due to a return to pre-pandemic grading, but results saw an increase compared to 2018-19.
