The Yorkshire SEND Alliance were commissioned by DfE as peer researchers to lead on gathering the views of children and young people on National SEND reform.

To date they have met with 68 young people from 6 different formal and informal settings across 5 of the local authority areas that make up West Yorkshire. They are still collating data, then it will be on to analysing and report writing. This weekend they have another meeting to start the audio recording for the animation film they are making explaining the aims of the change programme, as a resource which can be shared in workshops with young people and different settings to help understanding and awareness.
