The School of Health at Leeds Beckett University is looking to appoint 1 External Examiner for our undergraduate, postgraduate, and degree apprenticeship Youth Work courses. The post is from 1st November 2026 for four years.

The primary focus of this role is our fieldwork modules, and modules which directly relate to professional practice, as such experience of supervising staff, or assessing undergraduate and/or postgraduate level students. A professionally recognised qualification in youth and community work is also essential, together with understanding or experience of Degree Apprenticeship delivery and assessment.

External Examiners attend Board of Examiners meetings at least once a year, submit an annual report and review coursework.  Previous experience of external examining is not necessary as the University will provide online induction training and a mentor. The appointment is subject to approval by the University’s Scrutiny process.
