Friends of the Earth is looking for a Consultant Youth Facilitator to support the next iteration of the Environmental Justice Collective programme in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Following a successful pilot of the Environmental Justice Collective in London, Friends of the Earth is looking for a Consultant Youth Facilitator to support the next iteration of the programme in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

This is a paid freelance role for someone with recent experience of youth activism, facilitation, organising or justice-led campaigning. We welcome applications from individuals, freelance facilitators, collectives and organisationswith relevant experience.

The programme will run from June to December 2026 and will support 15 young working-class, racialised, disabled and/or neurodivergent people aged 16–26.

  • Fee:£4,000, with agreed travel and access-related costs covered separately
  • Location: Leeds/West Yorkshire
  • Contract: June–December 2026
  • Working pattern: Flexible. The consultant can work around their own availability, in liaison with the group and Programme Manager, to agree monthly in-person meeting times that meet the needs of the young people taking part, alongside online meetings with Friends of the Earth staff. This role will require some evening and weekend work.
