Become has launched a brand-new petition linked to our #GoneTooFar campaign, fighting to keep children in care close to the people and places that matter to them.

More than 1 in 5 children in care are placed over 20 miles from home – some as far as 500 miles – and most are moved simply because appropriate local homes aren’t available. The Government doesn’t even track the reasons why children are placed so far away.

We need to keep pressure on the Government to address this issue, so we’ve launched the petition to demand:

• Clear data collection and reporting on why children are being moved miles from home
• National and local strategies to make sure there are the right homes in the right places, to keep children in care close to the people and places that matter to them.
