The West Yorkshire Youth Commission, want to inform the Mayor and the Violence Reduction Partnership (VRU) about issues that affect young people. They have 4 priorities that have been deemed important to focus on for West Yorkshire, which we focus on, which are:
- Attitudes & Violence towards women
- Rehabilitation & Prevention
- Drugs, Gangs, & Knife Crime
- Community Relationship & Life
They are delivering free workshops on all of these priorities to get young people (typically aged between 14-25) speaking about issues that influence them and how they would like them changing. These workshops are highly interactive and include a range of games, quizzes and discussions. They are both educational and provide an opportunity for open discussion, and for young people to voice their opinions, which we will then be fed back directly to the West Yorkshire VRU, the Mayor and West Yorkshire Police.
