The Yorkshire & Humber Secure Data Environment (Y&H SDE) is a secure platform that allows approved researchers to access and analyse health and care data for research that can help improve services, understand illness, and support prevention. Strict safeguards are in place to protect people’s information and ensure data is used safely and responsibly.

There are 10 regional Secure Data Environments across England, as well as a National SDE. These organisations work together as a network to support high-quality research. In some cases, researchers may need to use data from more than one SDE, particularly for studies that require larger or more diverse populations, or to compare findings across different areas.

This type of collaboration is already taking place. We would now like to understand what patients and members of the public think is important when Secure Data Environments work together in this way.
