As part of the Department for Education’s national consultation on Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS), the Yorkshire & Humber SEND Youth Alliance is gathering the views of children and young people from across our region.

We’ve created an accessible, SEND-friendly survey to help young people understand the proposals and share what they think. Their feedback will directly inform the Yorkshire & Humber SEND Youth Alliance’s response to the national EOTAS consultation, ensuring that young people’s lived experiences are represented.

We would be really grateful if you could help us by:

  • Sharing the survey with the children and young people you work with (aged 11–25).
  • Promoting it through your youth groups, schools, colleges, services and social media.
  • Supporting young people to complete it, where needed, using the discussion guide or through conversations to help explain the questions.

The survey is suitable for all young people, but we’re particularly keen to hear from those who have experience of:

  • Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS)
  • Alternative Provision
  • Being out of school because their needs weren’t being met
  • Online learning
  • Home tuition
  • Difficulties accessing education because of SEND or health needs

Every response will help build a stronger picture of what children and young people want to see change. Whether their experience has been positive or challenging, every voice matters.
