The press policy team at DCMS would like to hear views from the youth sector on an early proposal for a project to provide free access to digital news subscriptions (local or national) within youth services.
This would aim to improve access to key, trusted news sources for young people, amongst a large amount of mis- and disinformation, especially for those not in education, and is part of development of a wider Local Media Strategy. This also supports Action 3 of the National Youth Strategy.
They would like to hear thoughts from:
- Youth organisations in the West of England area that may be interested in being involved in a pilot.
- Larger youth organisations that would have the digital infrastructure and interest to facilitate a project like this on a national scale.
