Following the momentum of our 2025 conference, United Youth Alliance is bringing What About the Boys? back for another day of learning, challenge and honest conversation about the experiences of boys and young men.
This year, the conference will form part of the growing Fylde Coast Boys Impact Hub – bringing together young people, youth workers, educators, practitioners and organisations committed to improving outcomes for boys and young men across Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre and beyond.
At the heart of the day will be the Taking Boys Seriously Principles, helping us move beyond simply identifying the challenges boys face and towards practical approaches that can make a difference.
What to expect:
Thought-provoking speakers
Hear from people bringing research, lived experience and frontline practice together to challenge how we think about boys and young men.
Interactive workshops built around the Taking Boys Seriously Principles
Our workshop programme will explore three key themes:
Surviving the Mannosphere
Exploring masculine identities, online influences and how we support boys to navigate increasingly complex messages about what it means to be a man.
Developing a Strengths-Based Approach to Learning
Moving away from deficit-based narratives and looking at how we recognise boys’ strengths, potential and the environments they need to flourish.
The Voice of Boys
Exploring how we genuinely listen to boys and young men and involve them in shaping the services, decisions and communities that affect their lives.
There will also be opportunities throughout the day to connect with other practitioners, share learning and build new partnerships through the Fylde Coast Boys Impact Hub.
What About the Boys? is for anyone working with, supporting or making decisions that affect boys and young men.
Be part of the conversation and help us turn that conversation into action.
