Mayor Sadiq Khan has announced a further £875,000 for his Shared Endeavour Fund, bringing his total investment in tackling hate crime since 2016 to £17 million, more than any other Mayor.

The funding comes as antisemitic incidents in London rose 24% in the first half of 2026, and reports of anti-Muslim hate in the same period already exceeded those recorded across all of 2023.  Record Levels Reached on London-Based Reports Anti-Muslim Hate Reports

The fund backs grassroots organisations delivering workshops in schools and communities to help young people identify and challenge extremist content online, with 18 projects funded this round across every London borough, expected to reach 50,000 Londoners.

Successful organisations include Stand Up! Education Against Discrimination, delivering joint Jewish and Muslim-led classroom workshops, Thoughtful, training teachers to help pupils reject extremist ideologies, and Tech Against Terrorism, running workshops on recognising online harms.

Commander Helen Flanagan of Counter Terrorism Policing in London said record numbers of children are becoming involved in radicalisation casework, warning that protecting young people requires coordinated effort across schools, local authorities and the charity sector.
