The NSPCC has published a news story calling on the government to take stronger action on social media platforms to help keep children safe online. New data from Childline shows TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram were among the platforms mentioned most often in contacts to the NSPCC service in the year to March 2026. The most common concerns children raised around TikTok, the platform mentioned most often to Childline, related to mental health, online sexual abuse and exploitation, and their wider digital behaviour.
