Youth Futures Foundation the Missing Link report explores how trusted adult relationships can help tackle youth unemployment and economic inactivity among young people.
It highlights the role of youth workers, mentors, teachers and other trusted adults in identifying and engaging young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), particularly those who are economically inactive and disconnected from support services.
It also calls for trusted adult relationships to be embedded within the Government’s National Youth Strategy and Youth Guarantee, with stronger collaboration between youth services, education, health and employment support.
The report also recommends developing Young Futures Hubs as local centres that bring services together and provide young people with consistent, relationship-based support.
