focusing on voter ID: an important part of making sure people are able to take part in elections.

In England, everyone voting in person in the local elections will need to show valid photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence. You can still use ID that is out of date, as long as you are clearly recognisable from the photo. Here you can see the full list of IDs that you can use in the upcoming elections.

If someone doesn’t have an accepted form of ID, they can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate. The deadline to apply is Tuesday the 28th of April at 5pm.

Remember, the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming elections is now just 1 week away, at midnight on Monday the 20th of April. You can register by clicking here and find more voter registration resources here.
