The HOME Project Worker will work alongside the HOME wellbeing team to offer a range of groups that help to support the emotional wellbeing of young people who are referred to HOME.
Job Purpose:
To support young people aged 11–15 as part of our wellbeing programme at HOME. The role will require delivery of both 1-2-1 and group work sessions.
HOME provides young people with a safe, inclusive, and creative space which offers early support and intervention for young people’s improved mental health and emotional wellbeing. The Hub has young people friendly spaces which provide an informal, calm, and supportive environment from which they can find further help and information.
Our work is a combination of youth work approaches and principles, and early intervention and prevention services based on good practice, with young people’s voice at the heart of everything we do.
The ideal candidate will need to be a thoughtful and flexible practitioner who places young people and their welfare at the heart of their practice and has a compassionate, authentic approach. They will have a demonstrable commitment to equality and social justice and be a positive team player willing to share learning and good practice.

Salary: Chilypep Scale 22 £30,708.00 to Scale 24 £32, 523.00
Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: Funded by DHSC until March 2027. Continuation funding is being sought.
Location: Ground Floor, Wellington House, Market Street, Barnsley, S70 1WA (Temporary base, permanent location YMCA, Barnsley)
