The Black Hair and Skin project addresses inequalities faced by Black children of African and Caribbean heritage. Initially focusing on children in care, it challenges hair discrimination and equips others to do the same. Barnardo’s SEEN commissioned research from ClearView Research to explore the experiences of Black children in the UK, especially those in care or youth institutions, regarding hair and skin care. The research offers recommendations for a more inclusive environment.
